I believe there may have been a question regarding this previously from someone else, but I wanted to inquire once more.
Village of Schaumburg is proposing replacing an older heavy duty inground lift, that was installed in 2007, needing a costly repair, with a mobile column lift.
Is anybody currently using mobile column lifts? if so, how many have you purchased and what has your experience been with them compared to an inground lift?
My time at Lemont Fire we purchased a set of corded Stertil Koni lefts which served us with no problems. When the new tower ladder was purchased we sold corded set and purchased 6 wireless Stertil Koni lifts and to this day there has been no issues.
Brian,
We have a total of 20 columns, 4 Sefac, 4 ALM, and 6 Stertil Koni. The Stertil Koni units are wireless which is the way to go. The Sefac and ALM units are quite a bit older but still very dependable. The columns, in my opinion, are more versatile than a traditional in-ground lift as they can easily be moved around the shop and if needed can be loaded on a trailer and used in a location off site. If you want to come check them out and get the technician's input just let me know.
We have a total of 10 Rotary #18,000 units. In service 5 years give or take without any maintenance issues. Purchased tall jack stands with the first set of 6 we ordered.
We went wireless and also picked up various adapters for versatility.
We have two sets of ARI-Hetra moblie litfs that are 26 years old. We are having our first issues with them, the screw bearings need to be replaced on one set. We like them, but wish we had the cordless ones which weren't available when we purchased. We use them just about every day.
