We are having an intermittent starting issue with a couple of our 5.7 Durangos. It seems to happen most often after the vehicle sits for a few hours after being driven. The vehicle will turn over and not fire on the first push of the start button. After the cycle stops, it typically fires right up on the second attempt.

It isn't throwing any codes and has been to the shop several times for diagnosis. Both shops are "unable to replicate" so it comes back and I continue to get emails. Doing some reading, it seems it could be caused by a weak fuel pump. I am tempted to just have the pump replaced but wanted to see if anyone on here has had a similar issue and if they found a fix before I start throwing money at it.

Any help or input is greatly appreciated!

Give Rob Richardson a call at McHenry County Sheriffs Department, he has a large fleet of Chrysler vehicles, he may be able to answer your question, 815-334-4717
